Do you remember the wildlife campaign ads for the 2004 presidential elections? Bush had an ad featuring a pack of wolves that represented terrorists; the idea was that that he would save us from them. In Kerry’s version, Kerry was represented by a wise eagle who saw everything and knew when it was necessary to change direction, while Bush was an ostrich with his head stuck underground, stubborn and ignoring reality. The idea of another 4 years of Bush made us want to flee the country, and the most practical option was Windsor, Canada. We like to think we did our humble part in winning Michigan (51% to 49%), but alas, this was not enough...
